Teaching
I usualy teach graduate level courses. Here are a couple of courses I have
taught for most recently. Electron Microprobe Principles and Applications + Production
of a Manuscript from Petrologic Research + Oral Presentation Geol 630/660 : Petrology/Geochemistry Seminar (Spring)
2000-Geochemical Instrumentation Results were Presented at the Lunar Planetary and Science
Conf.(2003), Abstract No. 1881 and 1896
2003-Trace-Element Geochemistry 2004- Return to the Moon 2005- Lunar and Martian Meteorites 2006- Phase Equilibria of Igneous
systems 2007- Instrumentations
for the Planetary Sciences UH 100 : Undergraduate Honors Program (2008) Return to the Moon
Geol 568 : Geochemical Analysis (every fall)
The semester project entails research on rocks of the student's choice (e.g., thesis samples), polished thin-section
preparation, petrography, use of the electron microprobe. Major emphasis is placed on scientific writing for publication,
including abundant discussions, much bleeding on manuscripts, and with considerable revisions and rewritings.
2001-Origin and Evolution of the Moon
2002-Phase Equilibria and Modelling of Igneous-melt Crystallization
