Lambda will be on the Pedestrian Walkway from 10 until 3 providing information about the organization and the event. Stop by our table to meet Lambda members and get involved in the organization. Free candy will be available as well!

National Coming Out Day is held each year to encourage openness and provide support for the LGBTQ community.

"This year will also mark an important hallmark, as National Coming Out Day, Oct. 11, 2007, falls on the 20th anniversary of the 1987 Gay and Lesbian March on Washington, and the unfurling of the AIDS Quilt on the National Mall. National Coming Out Day was celebrated a year to the day later as a way of continuing the spirit of openness, honesty and visibility that the march and the AIDS Quilt presentation inspired."

Gatlinburg Cabin Trip

World AIDS Day  ·  Committee Information

Worlds AIDS Day originated at the 1988 World Summit of Ministers of Health on Programs for AIDS Prevention. Observed on December 1st each year, World AIDS Day is dedicated to raising awareness of the AIDS pandemic caused by the spread of HIV.

Lambda will be celebrating World AIDS Day on November 30th due to class schedules, but please join us in observing this important event.

Congresswoman Sabrina Sojourner  ·  Committee Information

Congresswoman Sabrina Sojourner is the first open lesbian to be elected to the United States Congress. Congresswoman Sojourner will be lecturing at a Lambda hosted event on February 26, 2008. This event is a few months out, but is under heavy planning right now. If you are interested in helping out with one of Lambda's most influential events this year, contact the committee chair.

Rockin' Womyn's Music Festival

13 local women bands will be performing from 1 until 10pm in Market Square to help support local support groups for battered women. Come join us in Market Square and have a good time listening to good music and enjoying the weather!
