Blessed John XXIII parish on the Campus of The University of Tennessee in Knoxville has been serving the University’s students since 1969. In 2007, a Collegiate Knights of Columbus Council was established to assist in the ministry of this church.
The Knights of Columbus is an international Catholic family fraternal organization. Founded in 1882 by Fr. Michael J. McGivney, its purpose is to encourage strong fraternal ties between Catholics through works of charity. Charity is the first principle of our order, reminding us of its purpose s the greatest of the theological virtues. The Order is well known for the service it renders to the Holy Mother Church and to our Nation.
Council 14341 at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville is a branch of the Order that seeks to engage young Catholic college men in works of charity. The officers and directors of this council are students at the University, and membership in the council is open to all Catholic men who are at least 18 years of age.
