Articles from My Army Years

I spent four years in the Army and the best time I had when I was in, was serving in Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. During deployment is when I realized that I love writing and being a reporter. Over there, there are no frivilous stories and the people you write about are putting their lives on the line each day. You can't beat interviewing selfless people whose hearts are in their jobs.

Some of these stories are from my days at Fort Hood and some are from Afghanistan. Either way, I could not leave out these works. They played a role in my career, whether they were articles on an officer's party or involved interviewing the Secretary of Defense. These are the articles picked up by the Defend America Web site. This is what Army photojournalists do.
