You must complete the laboratary assignment. If you fail in the laboratory, you will fail the course.

 Textbook: Young & Freedman, University Physics, 11th Edition with Modern Physics,  ISBN: 0-8053-8684-X with Mastering Physics Student Access Card  (the latter is a part of  ~$150 new package or sold separately for $41.60 from http://www.masteringphysics.com/). Older editions of the book with separately purchased access card is OK
Also recommended:
D. A. Wells and H. S. Slusher, Theory and Problems of Physics for Engineering and Science,
Schaum's Outline Series in Engineering ,  ISBN: 0-07-069254-8  (check e.g. amazon.com) or any
other similar physics problem solving book.
Attendance:  Lectures and labs are obligatory !
Homework: Assigned and graded through the web: 
Home work (several problems per week ) will be assigned every week through masteringphysics.com system. Home page
 http://www.masteringphysics.com/  , course ID MPKAMYSHKOV0006 (for initial registration you will be asked to provide your first and last name, college ID, and the access  code from your Mastering Physics Student Access Card). After that you will be assigned a name and a password  for faster login. Each homework will be due at 11 am on Tuesdays before the class starts and a new home work will appear on the web around that time.
Tests: provisionally #1  September 21; #2 October 17; #3 November 30; in class, closed book, ONE page of hand-written formulas will be allowed. No make-up tests will be given. If you miss a test for a legitimate reason, that you have informed the Instructor about before the test, your score can be adjusted at the end of the semester according to your overall performance in the class. 
Final: Wednesday, December 13 (10:15 am -12:15 pm), comprehensive, in class, closed book,
ONE
page of hand-written formulas written by student will be allowed (no copies, or printed pages).
Grade: 25 % lab (you must pass it to pass the course)
25 % home-work
50% three tests + final
Letter grades: D>60%,C>70%,B>80%, A>90%
