You must complete the laboratary assignment. If you fail in the laboratory, you will fail the course. If you are repating the course, you must also repeat the laboratory since it is an integral part of the course.

Textbook: Young & Freedman, University Physics, 11th Edition with Modern Physics,  ISBN: 0-8053-8684-X with (!) Mastering Physics Student Access Card  (the latter is a part of  $152 package or sold separately for $36 from http://www.masteringphysics.com/)

Assigned and graded through the web: 
Home work (several problems per week ) will be assigned every week through masteringphysics.com system. Home page
 http://www.masteringphysics.com/ , course ID MPKAMYSHKOV0004 (for initial registration you will be asked to provide your first and last name, college ID, and the access  code from your Mastering Physics Student Access Card). After that you will be assigned a name and a password  for faster login.
Tests: #1 Monday, February 14;#2 Wednesday, March 9; #3 Wednesday, April 13; in class, closed book, ONE page of hand-written formulas will be allowed. No curving and no make-up tests will be given. If you miss a test for a legitimate reason, that you have informed the Instructor about before the test, your score can be adjusted at the end of the semester depending on your overall performance in the class. 
Final: Wednesday, May 4 (8:00 - 10:00 am), comprehensive, in class, closed book, no curving.

Grade: 25 % : lab (you must pass it to pass the course)
25 % : home-work 
(you must complete your home-work to pass the course)
50 % : three tests + final  (5% + 15% + 15% + 15%)
Final grade: A >90%; B+ > 85%; B >80%; C+ >75%; C >70%; D >= 60%; F <60%
