About
Based in Virginia near Washington, D.C., USA Today is one of only a few daily news publications with a national audience. About 5 million people read the print edition daily. The companion web site is updated 24 hours a day with almost 9 million visitors each month.
Submission guidelines
These are some general guidelines for submitting a letter to the editor:
- Include your full name and contact information. For legal reasons, the publication must confirm the identity of every letter writer. Ask permission from an adult before giving any personally identifiable information. Read more Internet safety tips.
- If you don't want your name published, attach a short note requesting anonymity. Some publications have strict policies against publishing anonymous letters; other publications will honor your request after confirming your identity.
- Send your letter to one publication only. Most newspapers and magazines will not publish your writing if there is a chance it will be published elsewhere.
- Observe word limits.
