Peter Nathan Foltz A member of the Los Angeles Opera's Resident Artist program, Peter Nathan Foltz performs a number of roles in the 2004-2005 season, including Brighella in Ariadne auf Naxos, Remendado in Carmen, Parpignol in La boheme, Footman in Vanessa, a Messenger in Aida and Benvolio in Romeo et Juliette. In March 2005, Mr. Foltz will make his European debut in Berlin as tenor soloist in Bach's St. John's Passion, with the Deutsches Symphonie- Orchester, directed by Kent Nagano. He recently made his Glimmerglass Opera debut in the role of Prince Saphir in Offenbach's Bluebeard as a member of the Glimmerglass Young American Artist Program. Mr. Foltz comes to Los Angeles Opera after completing a two-year residency with the prestigious Pittsburgh Opera Center. During previous summers, he was invited to join the Merola Opera Program, where he sang Slender in The Merry Wives of Windsor. He has also performed the role of Don Ottavio in Don Giovanni with the California Music Festival. Mr. Foltz is a recipient of the Hilda Bell Award at the Palm Beach Opera Competition as well as the Sullivan Foundation Encouragement Award. Peter Nathan Foltz is a graduate of the Manhattan School of Music and Northwestern University School of Music. While at Northwestern, he sang the roles of Arnalta in Monteverdi's L'incorannazione di Poppea, the Male Chorus in Britten's, The Rape of Lucretia and Judge Danforth in Ward's The Crucible, as well as four solo recitals. |
