For those that want a quick-look at what webcasting is and how the Mediasite system works, click here.
Engineering Services provides a state-of-the-art webcasting system for the Knoxville Campus and University Wide Administration (UWA). Webcasts are generated in Windows Media format using Sonic Foundry’s MediaSite platform. Two types of webcasts are offered; video only and enhanced. Click here for a sample of video only content. Click here for a sample of enhanced content. To view content users must have Windows Media Player installed on their computer, though any web browser may be used. Go here to view a catalog of all public UT webcast presentations
Services for live-streaming as well as archived, or “on-demand” streaming, of class, symposium, or administrative meetings are available. Engineering Services will maintain a catalog page and links to the content. Alternatively, direct links to the webcast can be provided so that a client may post presentation URLs on their own webpage. In addition, the viewer webpage can be customized with client provided graphics.
Streamed content will be archived and available for on-demand viewing for one (1) calendar year. After one year the content will be deleted from the server. A copy of the presentation will be provided to the content creator before deletion. Extra copies will be provided upon request.
Download the Webcasting Request Form and follow the instructions on the form.
