Trip to Cirque de Chine
The International House is gladly inviting you to the Cirque de Chine trip, one of the best production the Smoky Mountain Palace has offered to date. The show is performed by an award winning troupe new to the Smoky Mountain Palace. The cast offers the traditional Chinese cultural acrobatics but in a very fast paced, and at times breath taking, manner.
The costumes are absolutely gorgeous; the music selected not only is appropriate for the acts but actually enhances them, and the skill of the acrobats is extraordinary.
The International House has been offered a great deal on the ticket price due to our collaboration with the show crew before. You are paying the price for 6 to 9 years old in this case instead of a $30 full amount. It is sure to be a great experience, so don't miss out! Tickets are on sale now at the I-House front desk now, and it ends on Thursday November 19 at 5 pm.
Schedule for the Trip: First to Cirque de Chine to see the show (lasts about 2 hours), then to local restaurant for an early dinner (travelers need to pay for own dinner). Before heading back to UT, we will take a city tour by bus and see the fabulous Christmas lights and holiday view there. Schedule is subjuect to change on that day.

Tanger Outlet Mall Trip
Join us on the trip to the Tanger Outlet Center, located in Sevierville, Tennessee. With it being one of the largest shopping centers in the U.S., you will find almost everything that you are looking for. Hiking Trip - Ramsay Cascades, Great Smoky Mountains
The International House would like to invite you to the Great Smoky Mountain hiking trip! We will be hiking to the Ramsay Cascades on Saturday, October 24th. With Fall upon us the Smoky Mountains are at their most beautiful, with the leaves showing an array of gorgeous colors. We will also be stopping by the falls to have a picnic (food will not be provided by the I-House). So you can eat, make new friends, and enjoy the scenery! Tickets are only $4 for transportation fees, and they are on sale at the I-House front desk now. The space is limited so come in and sign up today! The deadline for signing up is Thursday, October 22 at 5: 00 pm.
We will begin loading the bus at 7:30 am in front of the I-house and leave at 7:45 am. The bus will also stop by the Sutherland and Golf Range apartments afterward. Outlet Mall Trip
The International House is taking a trip to the Outlet Mall in Pigeon Forge TN on Saturday January 10th at 9:30am. This will be an opportunity for new and returning students to get name brand clothing at great prices. There are many name brands to choose from including Nike, Calvin Klein, Coach and many, many more. It is sure to be a great time shopping so sign up at the front desk and we look forward to seeing you shop til you drop!

Trip to the Outlet Mall

Do you want to come and see the Ripley's Aquarium of the Smokies? On Saturday, Nov.1st, the I-House will be taking a trip there. The trip will go through Ripley's aquarium, Ripley's believe or not museum and a haunted adventure. You will get a chance to enjoy 1.4 million gallons of sharks, crabs, stingrays and over 10,000 exotic sea creatures, discover the unusual, bizarre, and amazing oddities from around the world, and explore your nightmare with three floors of fright with live actors and chilling effects!
We will begin loading the bus at 9:45 am at the I-House and leave promptly at 10:00 am. The bus will also stop at the Sutherland Apartments after leaving the I-House. The trip will go through beautiful Cade's Cove on the way to a hike up to the picturesque Abrams Falls. You will get a chanceto enjoy the colorful leaves. Those attending the trip will need to bring a lunch with them. Also, proper attire is recommended. Tennis shoes and lightweight clothing should be worn.

All Aboard!
All Aboard!! On Saturday July 12th, the International House is taking a trip aboard the Three Rivers Rambler. The train ride runs along the scenic Tennessee, Holston, and French Broad Rivers. The 11 mile train ride lasts 90 minutes and passes by beautiful farmland, Knoxville's first settlement area and several rock quarries that were mined to build Washington DC. It also runs over the Three Rivers Trestle where the French Broad and Holston rivers combine to the Tennessee River. We will meet at the International House at4:00pm and walk to the train ride. The train departs at 5:00pm and we should return to the International House around 7:00pm. The cost of the trip is $19. Children ages 3-12 also receive a discounted ticket. The movie talks about a family who is on the run from an inexplicable and unstoppable event that threatens not only humankind but the most basic human instinct of them all: survival. Do you want to know more about the movie? Please join the International House for a movie night at the West Town Mall. The I-House will provide transportation. The cost that includes both the movie ticket and the transportation is 10 dollars per person and the movie is rated R. Downtown Knoxville In A Day Trip: Thursday, June 5th, 11-3pm
It is time for our annual Summer Trips here at the International House. This summer we have some very exciting trips that we have planned, JUST FOR YOU! We know that you all are enjoying the summer and the sun, but we want to make sure we give you an opportunity to see new places and experience new things with the I-House staff.
For the kickoff of our Summer Travel, we are going to explore: Downtown Knoxville in a Day. We have planned an exciting trip to some of the most famous and historical sites in Downtown Knoxville. Our tour will begin with a tour of the World Famous Knoxville Sunsphere. Then, we will head to World's Fair Park where we will explore, enjoy a brown bag picnic lunch, and have fun in the park. Next, we will head over to Knoxville's Famous Chocolate Factory and see what they do and why everyone loves this place. Lastly, we will head back to the I-House and discuss our eventful day and share our experiences with each other.
If this seems like something you, your friends, family, kids, professors, etc. would be interested in, we would love to have you join us. Bus trip to Atlanta! Join the I-House staff and others as we take a day away in Atlanta on Saturday, June 23. We will be stopping to see The King Center, The Coca-Cola Museum, and The CNN Center!The cost of this trip will be $30.00 for adults and $20.00 for children between the ages of 5 and 12. June 2nd Trip to DollyWood
Are you looking to get out of Knoxville for the day? Do you like adventure? Come join the I-House staff and others this Saturday, June 2nd for a trip to DollyWood! Roller coasters, kid's rides and water rides are just a few of the great features to this theme park!
We will be leaving by bus this Saturday morning at 9:30am from the I-House. We will leave DollyWood at 6:00pm to return to Knoxville. A sign-up sheet is now available at the front desk of the I-House. Bring your friends and family to this exciting day away from Knoxville! The price of an adult ticket is $47.95 and the price of a children's ticket is $36.80. The sign-up sheet will close on Friday, June 1st at 12:00pm. Tour of Downtown Knoxville
On Saturday April 14th (this coming Saturday) join us to tour Downtown Knoxville! This will be a great opportunity for you to learn the location of local shops, cafes, and important buildings -- like the Post Office, the Tennessee Theatre, and different banks. You will also get to see a really nice part of Knoxville, hang out with your friends, and meet new people. Bring your camera!We will meet on Saturday, the 14th in front of the I-House at 11:45am. We're going to start by riding the bus and then we will walk around Market Square. There we will visit different local stores and have lunch together. Finally we will walk around the Old City and then head back to campus.
Be sure to bring money for the bus ride ($1.25 per bus ride), lunch, and for anything you plan to buy at the stores. Bring clothes and shoes appropriate for walking. A hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen are also recommended.
Sign up as soon as possible at the I-House front desk and see you on Saturday.

Trip to Mayfield Dairy
I would like to invite everyone to come out and enjoy a tour of Mayfield Dairy with the International House at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, April 10, 2007. We will be touring the milk and ice cream production plant; we will also have an opportunity to taste freshly made Mayfield Ice Cream for $1 per scoop and visit the gift shop!After our tour we will be having dinner at a local diner near Mayfield. The cost of the trip is $2 for transportation, and you will need to bring your own money for dinner and ice cream. I can assure you that you will enjoy yourself and learn a lot on this tour of Mayfield Dairy.

Trip to Nashville
The I-House will be facilitating a trip the state's capital of Nashville on Saturday, April 7.The trip will include a walking tour of downtown in which you will see the city's famous Batman building, the Global Cafe, and its many country music attractions. After this the group will be taken to lunch at one of Nashville's most famous, yet affordable restaurants, and following will be a detailed tour of Nashville's famous Parthenon, the exact replica of the one you find in Athens, Greece.
The total cost of the trip is $10 for the Parthenon tour and transportation, and we recommend you bring $10 for lunch and any extra spending money for souvenirs. We will leave at 8 A.M. sharp and return no later than 8 P.M.
