Trip to Museum of Appalachia
Calling all International students! Just a reminder that this Sunday, August 19, we will be taking a bus trip to the Museum of Appalachia for a tour, dinner, and evening dancing! A sign up sheet is available at the International House front desk, and the cost is $20.Please stop by the I-House soon to secure your ticket for this event! Sundown in the City on June 7
Do you like R&B, blues and rock&roll? Come and join International House staff and others this Thursday June 7 at 6pm to the "Sundown in the City" in the downtown to experience a big musical festival! We will meet at International House at 5:30 pm. If you would like to attend, please sign-up at the International House. There is no costs, but we need to get an idea of how many will go. If you have any further questions please contact the International House at (865) 974-4453.
This week, Sundown in the City will feature two music acts. Opening the show is Mad Tea Party. The featured act will be The Avett Brothers. Here's a video of the Avetts:

Tour of Downtown Knoxville
On Saturday April 14th (this coming Saturday) join us to tour Downtown Knoxville! This will be a great opportunity for you to learn the location of local shops, cafes, and important buildings -- like the Post Office, the Tennessee Theatre, and different banks. You will also get to see a really nice part of Knoxville, hang out with your friends, and meet new people. Bring your camera!We will meet on Saturday, the 14th in front of the I-House at 11:45am. We're going to start by riding the bus and then we will walk around Market Square. There we will visit different local stores and have lunch together. Finally we will walk around the Old City and then head back to campus.
Be sure to bring money for the bus ride ($1.25 per bus ride), lunch, and for anything you plan to buy at the stores. Bring clothes and shoes appropriate for walking. A hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen are also recommended.
Sign up as soon as possible at the I-House front desk and see you on Saturday.
