International Coffee House - Greek Cooking Demonstration

Dear students, faculty, and staff,

The International House would like to invite you to the International Coffee House program tomorrow night from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Greece is the theme for the programs at the International House this week, incorporating with it, the Coffee House presents Greek Cooking Demonstration for you to get a real experience in Greek culture, giving the fact that food tights in greatly in the nation's culture, and also a significant part of the influences that Greece brought into the western world. Vera Pantanizopoulos-Broux, a faculty in the Foreign Language Department here at UT, who was born and raised in a traditional Greek family, and also had run her own family deli with mainly Greek food, will be the instructor showing you how to make Baklavá, the well-known and popular dessert in the world, and Horiátiki Salata, as known as the Greek salad, which is actually made differently in Greece than in the U.S. These two dishes will be fun to make, to cook, and NOT difficult to learn at all. Therefore, mark your calendar for tomorrow night, come and make Greek dishes by your own hands! Become a semi-pro of Greek food, because more dish items will be mentioned by the instructor with the culture explanation!

This event will start shortly after 6:00 pm. Participants would want to arrive at or earlier than 6:00 pm for the purpose of getting settled for the tools and cooking material distribution.
