We currently have opportunites for pregnant women to participate in this study.

What we are studying:

  • This project studies how a mom's experiences affects her baby's development.

  • We are most interested in three things: stressful events you experience, the types of food you eat, and whether you have smoked during your pregnancy.

  •  We monitor your fetus' heart rate and behavior for approximately 30 minutes. This is a great chance for a mother to hear the sound of her baby's heart beating.

  • As a token of our appreciation you will receive a $20 gift card to Wal-Mart.

Eligibility: You may be able to participate if you are:

  • At least 18 years old.

  • Less than 30 weeks (7 months) pregnant.

What will happen when you come in:
  • Session lasts about 1.5 hours.
  • A nurse monitors your baby's heart rate and activity for 30 minutes.

  • We ask you questions about your life for example, questions about your income, home life, any stressful events that may have happened lately, what you have eaten recently, and what medications you have taken during your pregnancy.

  • All your information is kept private.

For Participating:

  • You will receive a $20 gift card to Wal-Mart.
