Providing Leadership in the field of Evaluation and Assessment
The Institute for Assessment and Evaluation (IAE) is an applied research and development community providing leadership in the field of education assessment and evaluation.
Located within the College of Education, Health, and Human Sciences at the Unviersity of Tennessee's Knoxville campus, the IAE group is dedicated to the develoment and implementation of effective strategies and technologies for assessing and evaluating educational organizations, instruction, and programs.
Established in 1994, IAE's growth has resulted from respoding to the increased need for evaluative services within diverse environments. IAE is committed to actively promoting quality assessment and evaluation practices. Working through contractual relationship, IAE provides evaluative serivces that are designed to meet the specific needs of our clients.
IAE's Mission
To provide a nationally recognized source of interdisiplinary expertise, research, practice and instructin in innovative assessment and evaluation of students, client, personnel, and programs.
IAE's Goals
- Generate and disseminate knowledge related to assessment and evaluation through research, development, and informed practice
- To provide a nationally recognized source of interdisiplinary expertise, research, practice and instructin in innovative assessment and evaluation of students, client, personnel, and programs.
- Design credible and innovative assessments of programs, personnel, and student and client outcomes.
- Provide necessary training in assessment and evaluation to educators, health and human service professionals and other desiring such education.
- Serve as the agent of the College for implementing assessment and evlauation of its graduates and programs.
- Serve as a resource to the Knoxville campus and the University of Tennessee System in their assessment and evaluation efforts.
- Provide the necessary assistance in assessment and evaluation for P-12 school systems, higher education institutions, health and human service agencies, non-profit and other organizations.
