History Department's Jeri McIntosh Publishes First Book
Jeri McIntosh, Assistant Professor of History, published her first book in late summer: From Heads of Households to Heads of State: The Pre-Accession Households of Mary and Elizabeth Tudor, 1516-1558 (Columbia University Press, 2008). She argues that the experience that Mary and Elizabeth gained in managing their large princely households before they became queens was key in allowing them to claim and hold the throne successfully as female monarchs.
