Social Theory Reading Group
The Social Theory Reading Group is a place for faculty, graduate students, and interested undergraduates to explore theoretical issues of social and cultural transformation. Themes include questions of historical time and logic; the public sphere; the relationship of anthropology and sociology to history; structure and agency; modernism and postmodernism; globalization. Students and faculty whose work is informed by these issues are encouraged to present.
We meet roughly every three weeks in the history department’s conference room on the 6th floor of Dunford Hall.
