RELATED EXPERIENCE:
1995-Present: Department of Nuclear Engineering, University of Tennessee. Teaching responsibilities have included a variety of undergraduate and graduate courses. Developed several new graduate classes in artificial intelligence and maintenance and reliability engineering. Served on seventeen M.S. theses and seven Ph.D. dissertations. Dr. Hines has been a PI or Co-PI on 16 research grants bringing in over 2.2 million dollars.

1990-1995 Graduate School at The Ohio State University. Taught Mechanical Engineering Systems Dynamics and Measurement Systems labs, managed the development of the Savannah River Site diagnostic expert system, Completed a Department of Energy summer practicum at the Savannah River Technical Center.

1989-1990 Commander Submarine Force Atlantic Fleet Force Assistant Nuclear Controls and Chemistry Officer, Conducted analysis of Atlantic Fleet Submarine nuclear reactor deficiencies, authored changes to Engineering Department Manuals.

1987-1988 USS James Monroe, Ballistic Missile Submarine, Electrical and Interior Communications Officer, Supervised and trained 10 electricians and 3 internal communication technicians in all facets of electrical generation, distribution and storage. Responsible for the operation, preventive maintenance and corrective maintenance of the ship's electrical generation, distribution and interior communication equipment.

CONSULTING
Presented short courses and seminars in Artificial Intelligence and Maintenance Engineering at The Ohio State University, Arnold Engineering Development Center at the University of Tennessee Space Institute, Instrument Society America, American Nuclear Society, Oak Ridge Associated Labs Instrumentation &Controls Division, and Tennessee Industries Week.
