January 24th, 2010 - First General Meeting
We have scheduled the first general meeting to be on Sunday, February 7th, 2010 in room 221 at the UC.

January 14th, 2010 - Habitat needs your help!
As the club gets underway this semester, we will need dedicated
officers that are willing to take on various responsibilities within the club. Although prior
experience is preferred, the best candidates will have a positive attitude and enthusiasm for
improving the quality of life for those in the Knoxville community who need it most.
If you think that you are up to the challenge, please contact Mark Ousley at mousley1@utk.edu,
or attend the first general meeting. (date to be announced.)
--The available (proposed) officer positions and descriptions are as
follows--

Vice President - Helps to lead the organization and manage Habitat
affairs. The best candidate would be someone who is willing to work
hard and contribute throughout the semester.

Build Coordinator(s) - Forms a list of members that want to participate
for an upcoming build. Calls the local habitat affiliate and schedules
future builds. Assists participating members with finding the location
and follows up with members that do not show up for their scheduled
time.

Treasurer - Maintains Habitat funds, budget, and keeps track of member dues and fee payment.

Secretary - Keeps official member list and contact info, records activities during meetings (potentially serves as a point of communication about meetings)

Fundraising Chair - Implements fundraising programs to raise money for
the Habitat club and Habitat international using University approved
methods.

Advocacy Chair - Creates initiatives on campus to raise awareness for
the need for Housing and Shelter in the US and around the world.
- Marketing Chair - Photographs Habitat events and meetings. Designs and procures materials required for T-shirts, awards, banners, etc.

January 11th, 2010 - Club Relaunch
The UT Chapter of Habitat for Humanity is relaunching this semester! We are currently renewing the charter and taking care of a few administrative items. Stay tuned for details. If you have any questions please feel free to email me at mousley1@utk.edu. We hope to see you at the first meeting!
