These data concern full-time faculty at this rank. 2000 comments: The number of Associate Professors again increased, this year by nine, to 249 (4%). Members increased by six, non-members by three. The population served was again 46%. (This is the same proportion as last year, achieved by rounding. There is an actual increase of just over .5%.) 1999 comments: The total number of Associate Professors increased by 28 (13%), from 212 to 240. The number of members, however, declined by three, to 110. The population served was 46%. The highest percentage ever served during the period of this study was 63-64%, in 1991-1993. 1998 comments: The number of Associate Professor members increased by four, from 109 to 113 (4%). The number of non-members, however, declined from 111 to 99 (11%). The total population thusly declined from 220 to 212 (4%). In 1998, 53% of associate professors were served by the association. |
