2000 comments: This is a net loss of two, however, it comes from gains in the Instructor and Associate ranks of six each, and losses of ten and four at the ranks of Assistant and Full Professor respectively. 1999 comments: The losses incurred during this year were in all ranks except the Instructor rank. 1998 comments: The numbers of full time faculty who are members of ALISE stayed exactly the same between 1997 and 1998, at 329. It is not known whether these are exactly the same faculty members. The largest number of such faculty members was in 1991, at 417. Note that the decline in membership identified for the years in the early 1990s, which assertion prompted this study, did not present itself here. |
