2000 comments: The total population for visiting faculty dropped from 130 to 110, and members dropped to 13 from 20. This area does not show strong, reliable trends at least for this year.

1999 comments: The total numbers of visiting faculty increased again from 114 to 130, or 14%. The number of members, however, grew from four to 20. The distinction between whether these are individuals who have an academic home somewhere else, or whether they are on temporary duty from a practitioner position, has not been made.

1998 comments: Visiting faculty increased their total population from 106 to 114 between 1997-1998, but decreased their membership from 12 to 4.

Their greatest numbers as members were in 1998, at 16. Their greatest numbers were in 1987, at 126.
