IT Specialist I
The Graduate School invites applications for staff-exempt position of IT Specialist I, a regular, full-time appointment to start July 15, 2008.
Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and one year experience in web/graphic design or information technology required. Experience and competence in MS Office for Windows environment, MS Publisher, Adobe Creative Suite and creation and maintenance of dynamic web pages using PHP and HTML. Experience and ability to trouble-shoot problems, procure, and set up software and hardware for office staff. Ability to learn university computer programs. Must be detail-oriented and able to work successfully in an independent or team environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Desired Qualifications: Knowledge of university communication standards and methods. Knowledge of graduate programs and policies for faculty, staff and students. Ability to analyze data and develop reports related to graduate programs.
Duties and Responsibilities: This position is a staff-exempt position. The IT specialist develops and maintains effective dynamic web pages for the Graduate School, Blackboard sites and other technical media in support of communication with graduate faculty, staff, and students. This position supports technical and communication functions of the Graduate School.
