How You can Help the
Laboratory of Tree-Ring Science
The
Laboratory of Tree-Ring Science has been fortunate to receive
donations of funds, time, and advice from numerous individuals,
organizations, and university-affiliated units. The funds received
are, without exception, used to help offset the soaring costs of
education for the graduate and undergraduate students associated
with the laboratory. These funds are used to (1) provide partial
support for travel to field sites; (2) provide partial support to attend
relevant conferences (AAG) and workshops (NADEF); and (3) help
purchase expensive books needed for graduate research. The funds we
receive, sadly, can not be used to supplement the graduate student
stipends (due to university regulations), so we try to provide
support in other areas.
If
you would like to help by making a small (or large!) donation to our
laboratory, contact me and I'll provide instructions on how to do
so. Please, do not send me a check made out to me! Checks should be
made out to the "Department of Geography" and please write
"Laboratory of Tree-Ring Science" on the line in the bottom left
where it says "For." No donation is too small! Even a
few dollars will help in some way. All donations will be used solely
to provide financial support for deserving graduate and
undergraduate students.
