Immigration Information

We understand that as an international student it can be overwhelming trying to understand the myriad immigration regulations, procedures and academic policies that you need to comply with in order to maintain your status. These rules and regulations impact many areas of your day-to-day life, including where you live, where you work, and how many classes you must take.

The staff of the Office of International Student Services is here to help you understand the immigration regulations and how they impact you. Usually, you can walk into CIE and get your questions answered. Advisors are available on a walk-in schedule if you decide to just drop by. If you prefer, we see students by appointments as well.

While it is ultimately your responsibility to maintain your status, we are here to advise you and to guide you through the complex rules and procedures. Answers to frequently asked questions such as “How many hours must I enroll in each semester? “ and “Where can I work?” can be found on the Immigration menu (to the right). Additionally, you can download many of the forms required to process your immigration paperwork.

Please don’t hesitate to stop by with your questions. We want you to know that we are here for you!
