"But if the life [in the Peace Corps] will not be easy, it will be rich and satisfying. For every young American who participates in the Peace Corps – who works in a foreign land – will know that he or she is sharing in the great common task of bringing to man that decent way of life which is the foundation of freedom and a condition of peace."

Volunteer/Work/Intern Abroad

Every year, thousands of Americans volunteer or work abroad. Working or interning abroad can help finance your travels, provide you with valuable work experience, and could offer you more of an "insider's" perspective on a foreign culture than just studying abroad. Volunteering abroad gives you an opportunity to perform valuable service for your host culture, while at the same time strengthening your own résumé, skills, and sense of self.

Speak with a PAO staff member today about the world of opportunities that await you while volunteering, working, teaching, or interning abroad.

In the meantime, begin exploring your options with the resources below.
