The Tennessee Conference Chapter Service Program is designed to aid AAUP chapters in various aspects of promoting standards on their campuses that will reflect those associated with the AAUP. The AAUP has developed the standards for academic practice long recognized by professors, governing bodies, and administrators in higher education. Each local chapter should have as one of its goals monitoring events on its campus and assuring that AAUP standards are observed. It is the aim of the Tennessee Conference Chapter Service Program, with support from the Assembly of State Conferences, to provide help and services in the following areas: Recruitment and retention of members. If you need a visiting speaker, contact our Vice President for Public Institutions or our Vice President for Private Institutions, as appropriate. Tenure and academic freedom.
