The Blount County Times covered the Science Night at Carpenters Middle School organized by GK-12 Teacher-Partners Victoria Headrick and Betsy Tillett.  GK-12 Fellows Chris Underwood, Rene Shroat-Lewis, and Sarah Cadieux presented talks and demonstrations,  along with faculty Henri Grissino-Mayer, Colin Sumrall, and Sally Horn.  Community members working to improve science education in Blount County were among the attendees.

GK-12 Faculty member and Principal Investigator for the GK-12 Earth Project Sally Horn is appointed as a Chancellor's Professor! Appointment as a Chancellor’s Professor constitutes the highest lifetime honor that can be accorded to a member of the faculty of the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
