Some of my greatest passions in life are Top 40 Radio (today
and yesteryear), record collecting, and transportation
(primarily mass transit). If you are a fan of transit buses, I believe
you will enjoy this website. And if you have an interest in old Top 40
music from various decades,
you must visit my airchecks page (yes, I do trades!). I am also posting
radio station playlists/surveys for different markets dating back to the
1960s and 1970s. Please scroll down to learn more....
That Was Then......
This Is Now!
Bye Bye Baby Fishbowl....it was lots of
fun!
Hello 40 foot Monster.....you need a new paint
job!
Currently, I own one GMC fishbowl bus. I
recently sold my 1969 30ft GMC TDH3301A bus (photo on left) and one of the
two 1981 Canadian-built 40ft GMC T8H5307A buses (photo on right).
Due to hassles from local authorities, I had to sell two of the three
coaches (neighbors complained about no streetside parking since each bus
took up three parking spaces). Here is one of my buses
(on the right) sitting
at a fuel station off Interstate-75 near Florence, KY. I purchased the
40 foot buses from the Transit Authority of Northern Kentucky (TANK)
at a very reasonable price. The baby fishbowl (bus on left) was puchased
from Asheville Transit Authority. The three buses were
originally purchased for the new startup of a commuter bus
operation in suburban Knoxville, TN. Unfortunately, my
business partner had relocated followed by numerous problems with
obtaining financial assistance from local sources (via subsidies), the
operation never got off the
ground.
This is an interior pic of my 40 ft GMC fishbowl. Cushioned
seats are always a plus (from a passenger standpoint) in any transit
coach.
I also love heavy rail- particularly NYC subway trains.
Here is a 1963 R-33 "redbird" subway car on the #7 Flushing Line entering
46th-Bliss Street station (eastbound platform) in
Queens, NYC on a dreary wet day. Unfortunately, these cars will be
retired in the near future (what I would do to have two of these redbird
subway cars in my backyard). Photo taken by me- April
1998.

Visit my Radio Station Survey/Playlist site-
see how well some of
your favorite songs performed in different US markets (KIMN-Denver,
WBZ-Boston, KJR-Seattle, WSAI-Cincinnati, KYNO-Fresno and
others).
I have hundreds and hundreds of radio surveys
dating back to the early 1960s onward- many of these will be posted onto
this website when time permits.

If you are a fan of pop radio, you will probably
enjoy visiting my AIRCHECKS site. You will find a lengthy list of
mostly unscoped (without edits) radio station airchecks dating as far back
as 1961. These are all airchecks from top 40 stations and most everything
post-1985 on the list was recorded by me (I could kick myself for not
saving those airchecks I recorded when I was younger!!!). And yes, I do
trade airchecks

To see a sample of my Transit Ridership On/Off
Count Form, see my
Monitoring Spreadsheet. CLICK ON BUS BUTTON
Please note: this survey was
accomplished by my monitoring the number of passenger boardings
and deboardings on a particular bus traveling from terminal to terminal
(entire route) in Knoxville, TN. I monitor ridership levels of
various transit systems all around the country. If you
have any comments/questions, please contact me by e-mail.
An incredible website chock filled with fascinating historical
stuff about two of the greatest radio stations New York City ever
had. Plus *all* WABC and WMCA weekly surveys are posted here!
This is THE website that motivated me to finally post many of my radio
surveys onto one central site. Thank you, Allan Sniffen, the WABC
webmaster!
Oldiesloon is a website dedicated to two great
Minneapolis/St.Paul
radio stations, WDGY and KDWB (lots and lots of radio surveys!). Also,
you can find KHJ, KRLA & KDWB surveys for Los Angeles and WLS & WCFL
