Graphic Novels and the Future

If you have been to a movie theater or bookstore lately you probably have noticed that there has been an explosion in interest in graphic novels. These works combine words and pictures and continue in a long tradition of artists imagining worlds to come. A large component of getting ready for the world involves evaluating the world around us and then looking to the future and imagining what can and will be. In this class we will be reading, discussing, and doing online activities with a number of graphic novels that explore possible futures, including the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, Fahrenheit 451, and The Surrogates.

This seminar is tentatively scheduled to meet during First Session on TR from 2:10 pm - 3:00 pm.

Note: Please check the official timetable for the most up-to-date information about meeting times and locations and availability.
