Myths of Mexican Immigration

Building on the RFTW-grant funded workshop on immigration awareness offered last spring for all beginning secondary teachers in the College of Education, Health, and Human Sciences, this seminar seeks to extend awareness about immigration issues(especially Mexican migration to the US) to the wider university community. Issues like Mexican migration are complex, especially when the information stream is polluted and hard to interpret, and popular "myths" about immigration (e.g., "they don't pay taxes," "they take our jobs") circulate. This seminar hopes to dispel some of the popular myths and broaden understandings about immigration.

This seminar is tentatively scheduled to meet during Full Session on TR from 11:10 am - 12:25 pm.

Note: Please check the official timetable for the most up-to-date information about meeting times and locations and availability.
