Pranks

Why do we find pranks on Punk'd and Jackass so interesting? In this course we will study and stage a number of pranks during the semester to explore the social, political, ethical and artistic uses of the prank. The web site http://artoftheprank.com will be the major resource for the seminar.

This seminar is tentatively scheduled to meet during First Session on T from 05:05 pm - 6:20 pm.

About the professor

Beauvais Lyons
Beauvais Lyons is an artist who has taught at UT since 1985. His solo exhibitions have been presented at over 60 galleries and museums in the United States and abroad and are in the collections of the Smithsonian Museum of American Art, The Whitney Museum and the Tennessee State Museum. He has a well documented history of being a prankster.
