FATS, OILS, & SWEETS

This is not considered an official "group" of the Food Guide Pyramid because there are no official recommendations for the number of servings needed daily.

It is advised to "use foods from this group sparingly", since their major contribution to our diet is calories and fat.

It is included on the pyramid because a large portion of the foods we eat daily often fall in this category.
