Our
project is directed by Dr.
Cheryl Buehler. Cheryl is a Professor in the Department
of Child and Family Studies at the University of Tennessee. She
has been teaching and doing research at UT for 20 years. She teaches
courses on marriage, family communication, and how to do research
in the fields of child development and family studies. She conducted
research on divorce and family life for about 15 years and recently
shifted a bit to studying family life and childrens transition
from childhood into adolescence. For the past several years she
also has been doing research on family foster care, focusing primarily
on identifying the characteristics of effective fostering. Cheryl
is married and has a grown daughter. In addition to teaching and
doing research on family life, she is an avid tennis player and
gardener. Please click on this to view a more detailed list of her
writings about family life.
