English 103 & 104: Writing Workshop I & II
Overview of English 103 & 104
English 103 and 104 are 1-credit electives (S/NC grading) intended to help students in English 101 and 102, the first-year composition courses. Students work both on their own and one-on-one with tutors to improve their writing skills.
Requirements for English 103 & 104
The requirements for English 103 and 104 are as follows:
- You must be enrolled in English 103 and English 101 at the same time, or English 104 and English 102 at the same time.
- Regular attendance is required. (Each week you'll spend 1 hour in the Writing Center and will work an additional hour at home or in the Writing Center.)
- You will meet with a tutor at least 5 times during the semester.
- You must receive a passing grade in English 101 or 102 in order to receive credit for English 103 or 104.
What to do if your schedule says TBA about the meeting time and place for English 103 or 104.

Come to HSS 212 during the first full week of classes. You will receive more detailed information about English 103 or 104 and will arrange your attendance schedule. You will be able to choose the time you attend each week (within the limits of our open hours, of course).
