October 23-25
The James Agee Film Festival features the showing of films such as “Monsieur Verdoux,” “The Quiet One,” “The African Queen,” and the restored version of “The Night of the Hunter.” Speakers include John Wranovics, Jeffrey Couchman, Jack Neely, and RB Morris.
November 1
The James Agee Park Celebration is an afternoon of performance, food, and fun.
Dutch edition of Let Us Now Praise Famous Men
November 14-15
James Agee, Walker Evans, and Abraham Lincoln is a program that features talks by Dwight Garner, NY Times Book Review editor, Jeffrey Rosenheim, Curator of the Walker Evans Collection at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and David Madden, novelist, former Director of the Civil War Center at Louisiana State University and Chair of the Louisiana Lincoln Bicentennial Commission. Various exhibitions and a showing of Agee’s “Mr. Lincoln” from Omnibus are part of the fare.
November 20-22
One Last Weekend with Jim includes an Agee-related concert by RB Morris, a Pre-Game lecture by Michael A. Lofaro, and lecture on Agee’s lost writings by Paul Ashdown.
