Students
Recent students have joined us from the writing programs at Arkansas, UC-Davis, Colorado, Johns Hopkins, Penn State and Stanford as well as from the ranks of our own undergraduate and MA writing programs. While here students have published in top shelf journals and magazines--Atlantic Monthly, Nimrod, North American Review, One Story, Southern Poetry Review and Spoon River Poetry Anthology to name a few.
They’ve won fellowships to prestigious writing colonies and numerous national prizes, including the New Millennium Writings Award for Poetry and the Missouri Review Editors Prize for Fiction, and they’ve been selected for inclusion in anthologies like Best New American Voices and Best American Short Stories.
Year by year, poem by poem, story by story the fine work of our graduate students raises the profile of our program.
