What to Do After the English Proficiency Exam

HOW DO I FIND OUT MY SCORE?

Undergraduate students can pick up their EPE scores after 9:30 at the Center for International Education. Graduate students can pick up their scores after 9:00 Monday in 218 Student Services Building.

WHICH ESL CLASS SHOULD I REGISTER FOR?

IF YOUR PLACEMENT IS "NE" (No English), you are not required to take any ESL courses. This applies only to graduate students and undergraduates who have fulfilled all their freshman composition requirements.

IF YOUR PLACEMENT IS ENGLISH 131, you are ready to take the first of two freshman-level courses that fulfill UT's two-course English composition requirement for L2 students. You should register for this section:

English 131 is a prerequisite for English 132. If you need to take English 132, check the university timetable for the section number and time.

IF YOU ARE AN UNDERGRADUATE STUDENT, AND YOUR PLACEMENT IS ENGLISH 121, you should register for one of these classes:

Note to graduate students: When you register for English 121, you must choose the special credit/grading option of UG (for undergraduate credit) in order to be able to complete your registration.

WHAT IF THE CLASS I NEED IS FULL?

If you are not able to register for the course you need the first time you try, keep trying off and on throughout the drop-add period. Openings often become available when other students make late adjustments to their schedules.
