Fire Safety

1. Conduct fire safety training for staff, faculty and students
2. Develop fire safety plans, including evacuation programs for department
3. Schedule and assist with fire alarm system testing
4. Monitor fire pump testing
5. Develop policies and procedures on fire safety for the campus including, but not limited to:
1. Hot Work Permits
2. Fire Protection System Impairment
3. Flammable and Combustible Liquids
4. Fire Watches
5. Pre-planning
6. Portable Extinguishers
7. Hydrants
8. Suppression Systems
6. Develop, conduct and evaluate fire drills
7. Review plans upon request for new construction or renovations relative to fire safety
8. Perform building fire safety inspections
9. Install, inspect and maintain portable fire extinguishers
10. Conduct pre-planning with the local fire department
11. Serve as a technical resource for fire safety questions
12. Assist department in developing emergency management plans
13. Investigate complaints involving fire safety
14. Monitoring changes in fire safety regulations and technology.  Communicate changes to appropriate representatives in the university
