Joel F. Diambra, Ed.D.

Dr. Joel F. Diambra is a graduate of The University of Minnesota, Virginia Commonwealth University and the College of William and Mary in Virginia. He is a National Certified Counselor (NCC) and Licensed Professional Counselor-Mental Health Service Provider (LPC-MHSP) in Tennessee. His research and publication record centers on peer advising, internship experiences and student development. He has worked in undergraduate programs with human service education and with masters and doctoral students in counseling programs. Currently, he teaches in the Counselor Education Ph.D. program, regularly teaching group dynamics, advanced group and systems, supervision and consultation, practicum and internship courses. He is the recipient of the National Organization of Human Service Education President’s Award and the Smoky Mountain Counseling Association President’s Award. At the university, he received the 2003 Faculty Achievement Award for Undergraduate Advising within the College of Education, Health and Human Sciences. Dr. Diambra is an Associate Professor in the Department of Educational Psychology and Counseling at the University of Tennessee.
