Collaborative Learning Doctoral Program

Admissions

We admit a new cohort every two years. February 1, 2008 will be the deadline for admission to the seventh cohort, which will begin residency in August of 2008

Admission to the program is contingent upon the applicant meeting the minimum grade requirements and other minimum requirements established by the Graduate School and published in the Graduate Catalog. In addition, the Department of Educational Psychology will seek to determine the goodness of fit between the applicant and the program goals and mode of operation. Ability to express oneself in a written and oral form will be heavily weighted. Factors such as aptitude for collaborative learning, related professional experience, aptitude for understanding and conducting collaborative action research, and genuine interest in the collaborative learning process, will be among the factors considered by the Department in its review of applications. These indicators of potential success in the program will be established in a review of the application papers and in one or more interviews by Department faculty and students with prospective participants.

In addition, all participants must be actively employed (full or part-time) in order to participate in the program's focus on reflective practice.

A Master's degree is not required for admission to the program.

For admission information and to apply online for both the Graduate School and the Department of Educational Psychology, please go to Prospective Students.
