KTOS Arizona trip, MAY 7-15, 2005
Five members of the Knoxville Chapter of the Tennessee Ornithological Society ventured to southeastern Arizona from May 7 to 15, 2005, led by David Trently of Avian Pursuits Nature Tours. A remarkable 200 bird species were identified during 8 days of birding over 1300 miles.
Some of the highlights were: Least Grebe; Common Black-Hawk; Gray Hawk; Spotted & Burrowing Owls; White-eared & Lucifer Hummingbirds; Elegant Trogon; Northern Beardless-Tyrannulet; Tropical Kingbird; Mexican Chickadee; Bendire's Thrasher; Olive, Virginia's, MacGillivray's and Red-faced Warblers; Flame-colored Tanager; Botteri's and Brewer's Sparrows; Yellow-eyed Junco; Varied Bunting; Hooded, Bullock's & Scott's Orioles.

WEST VIRGINIA, June 9-12, 2005
Cranberry Glades Botanical Area highlights this trip. Target birds include Mourning & Swainson's Warblers, Alder Flycatcher, Northern Waterthrush, Purple Finch. There should be plenty of interesting wildflowers, including orchids, to study, especially those of cranberry bogs. As usual, dragonfly and butterfly identification will be a major part of the trip
