   Rawls, Phil 590/440
    A close reading of Rawls's classics "A Theory of Justice" (Revised Edition, 1999) and
   "Political Liberalism" (Expanded Edition, 2005) along with an critical essay by Habermas.


Spring 2006 Courses
  Social and Political Philosophy, PHIL 290
      A Survey of Contemporary Political Philosophy.  We will read Will Kymlicka's
     "Contemporary Political Philosophy" (Second Edition).  Class will be devoted to
     lecture and discussion.  

  Philosophy of Law, PHIL 392  
      A Survey of Analytic and Normative Jurisprudence.  We will read H.L.A. Hart's 
     "The Concept of Law" (Second Edition), Andrew Altman's "Arguing About Law"
     (Second Edition), and my own "On the Philosophy of Law".  Classes will be devoted
     to lecture and discussion.
