The French Minor

The French Minor consists of 18 hours in courses numbered 333 and above. French 300 does not count toward the minor but is recommended for students needing grammar review.

Required Courses for French Minor:

333 Intermediate Composition & Grammar OR
334 Intermediate Conversation
351-352 History of French Literature
421 French Phonetics

In addition to the courses above, choose six hours of electives at the 300 and 400 levels (333 or 334 may be chosen if not taken above).

We encourage you to spend a summer or at least one semester on a study program in France like UT in France or the International Student Exchange Program (ISEP). You should discuss this option with your program advisor as soon as possible, in order to determine the courses for which you will be given credit in France. You must do this BEFORE you travel.
