Why should I join Delta Zeta?
In 2004, Delta Zeta was recognized for having the best new
member program in
the nation above all other sororities and fraternities!
Being a Delta Zeta new member is filled with wonderful memories
that will be
cherished for a lifetime. One of the greatest benefits of
becoming a new Delta
Zeta member is becoming part of your pledge class, a group of
new members just
like yourself with whom you will bond with the most.
BID DAY
Bid Day is celebration to welcome our newest members
into our Delta
Zeta sisterhood. This fun and exciting day is filled with
surprises and gives
chance for our new members to bond with the rest of the chapter.
ROSEBUDDY
The Delta Zeta flower is the pink Killarney rose, hence the
name "Rosebuddy".
Each week of your new member period, Delta Zetas are paired up with an older sister, to spend time with and get to know. This gives new members the chance to get to know other sisters.A Rosebuddy is one particular sister who welcomes a new member
into the
sisterhood of Delta Zeta. She is a sister you can go to with
questions and of
course she spoils you with all sorts of fun DZ stuff!
Big/lil Sis Week:
In Delta Zeta we share a special tradition of family trees.
Each new member
receives a Big Sis and enters a particular family
legacy. New members
are showered with gifts from the day they receive a bid until
Big Sis
Revealing.
Events for Delta Zeta's New Members:
Lip Sync
Lip Sync is a song and dance competition between all the
sorority new member
pledge classes! Each pledge class comes up with a song and dance
routine which
is then performed. Every year Lip Sync has a theme. The 2004
theme was Dancin
Through the Decades and Delta Zeta’s new members performed an
80’s dance
routine to the songs “Material Girl” and “Girls Just Want to
Have Fun”.
New Member Retreat
Each year, the new member pledge class goes on an overnight
retreat. It is a
night of bonding and sisterhood and a chance to have fun!
In 2004, the
new member pledge class enjoyed a night of sisterhood at the
lake.
