The founding principles of our sorority are friendship, sisterhood, scholarship, growth, and service. Delta Zetas’ national philanthropy is the speech and hearing impaired. Locally, we support Knoxville Center of the Deaf (KCD). We also support the Delta Zeta Foundation, Galludet University, and The House Ear Institute.
The Delta Zeta Foundation is a non-profit, tax exempt
organization which exists to make possible gifts and support for scholarships, leadership, philanthropy, and education. It exists through the generous support of Delta Zeta members and friends.
Delta Zeta contributes to our national philanthropy which aids
the speech and hearing impaired in several ways. A portion of our monthly dues are donated to Gallaudet University and the House and Ear Institute through our National Headquarters.
Locally, our chapter supports Knoxville Center of the Deaf (KCD). The Center offers communication services, including sign language interpreting services for deaf and deaf-blind person in case of medical, legal, psychological, social and employment situations. Our chapter of Delta Zeta supports these organizations by sponsoring our own campus philanthropy events, our annual Spring Gala, and our Charity Clay Classic..
The annual Spring Gala consists of a silent auction and live auction. The proceeds of our Spring Gala are donated to the Knoxville Center of the Deaf.

In fall of 2007, our chapter will hold it's third annual Delta Zeta
Charity Clay
Classic in October at the John Sevier Shooting Range in
Knoxville, TN.
The Charity Clay Classic consists of a clay shoot, and a chili
cookoff. All proceeds of this event benefit the Deaf Community in Knoxville.
The sisters of Delta Zeta take pride in their commitment to service. When we are not supporting our own philanthropy, we jump at the chance to participate in others. Year after year the sisters of Delta Zeta compete in games and events that help raise money for other organization's philanthropies. Our dedication and enthusiasm has won our chapter several awards across campus, while contributing greatly to several philanthropies, and creating priceless memories among our sisters.
