Use this worksheet to help plan your Web site. Print the form and fill in the blank spaces provided if it helps. It is a guide to help you create a dynamic and interesting Web site people will want to visit again. Check out the Web Design Tips and Tricks page for specifics on graphics, text, color, information, etc.

Define the purpose of your Web page. Is it a resume and personal info or information about a topic or organization?









Target a specific audience. Who is the primary viewer of this page? What would they be looking for?









What can you offer visitors to your site? Are you able to give them links to professional interests, hobbies, or other practical (and fun) information?









Make a list of the information to be presented at your site (graphics, links, text, etc). Does the information SUPPORT the purpose of your site? If not, reconsider the purpose of the site OR the information to include.









Evaluate the information and organize it into groups or categories. These categories may turn into individual pages linked to a main page.









Consider designing a menu bar for the audience. How might you let them know where they are and their other options? Make sure this menu bar is consistent on all your pages.









Create a detailed "plan" for your Web page. Include all the information and graphics you want to incorporate into your page. Please see the example!









Now it is time to begin your new HTML document. Before you put your document on the Web do three things:
