Tennessee Ultimate did quite well at this event. Tanasi (a pickup team with lots of Tennessee folks on it, including many Knoxville folks) won the tournament, the Women won their division, and the men won the Spirit Award! Here is part of Steve Cobble tournament wrap-up:
"Kudos to Voodoo for capturing the much coveted Spirit Award! It was a tough decision, as so many teams deserved the Spirit Award this year, but with Mike Alley (The ChickeNooga Allstar!) at the helm and Charlie Cwiek as their spiritual guide and Chip inadvertently discovering the value of the "eye-fake", Voodoo deserved recognition. Thanks to all of the teams for playing the game the way it should be played! It made for an exceptional tournament!"
This was the first Shawn tournament that I missed, so it was sure nice of Steve to mention my name at all. Sounds like I missed a great one. A few other close-ups of the text on the trophy are below.
