This is the first trophy that I can remember any team from Knoxville winning. The Mason-Dixon tournament is held in Lexington, Kentucky (we won the first annual Mason-Dixon, but there were only 3 teams and no trophy). In 1991, we only had 9 players, one of which was AJ Prassad, who was puking before the first game. As our opponents for the first game began to arrive, we said: "See that guy puking over there? That's AJ. He's puking. You guys are history!" We tend to do well when AJ pukes. Another one of our 9 players was John Rose, a rugby player (not a bad Ultimate player, but not that experienced at Ultimate at that time). Another one of our 9 players was Adam (I can't remember his last name). He was a bit over-weight, and very inexperienced. This did not look like a team that was going to win the trophy, but we beat Kentucky in the finals. We decided that we were going to work it into Adam for the final point if it took forever, and it just about did. He was so excited to catch the tournament winning goal, he kept the disc, to the displeasure of the owner of the disc (a Kentucky player, I believe). The Mason-Dixon tournament has grown much larger since 1991, and will take a much stronger team to win the trophy now than it did back then. I think we got our entry fee back for winning, and we bought a new water cooler with the money that we still use to this day.
