Please post to see if anyone else is working on these ancestors. The names
are Joseph & Mary West, Joel West and Elsey/Elsy/Elzy West of Giles Co., TN.
I know that Joseph and Mary were the parents of this Joel. There is a Giles
Co. deed dated 1832 with this info in it. I know that Joseph, Joel and Elsey
were in Giles Co. from 1812. Tax records and jury duty. I know that a Joel
and a younger Elsey West migrated to Henderson Co., TN and are on a tax record
along with Granville. Tax Records, land records and census. There was also
a Jesse West about the same age as Joel and Elsey in Giles early. Except for
Joel being the son of Joseph and Mary, I don't know how or if the others are
related. Only speculation since Joel and Elsey are together in the same counties
repeatedly. The father of Granville may not be a West. Possibly Joel West
married a Rutherford woman who had a small son named Granville. That son was
either adopted by Joel or was just given the name. We are seeking a descendant
of the younger Elsey who moved to Henderson and later to Obion Co., TN for
the DNA test. Descendents of this line may still live in Henderson or Obion
Counties Tennessee.
