Community Outreach Activities

The Community outreach program is an attempt to reach out to the Knox County community and promote public health.  All members are required to complete the 30 minute training orientation for the various activities and complete one community activity per semester in addition to the primary volunteering requirement.  The Red Cross holds several classes at all Knox County schools that teach students things as simple as hand washing to knowing what to do during a disaster.  Other activities that are endorsed are reorganizing and decorating clinics, assisting in clerical work for flu inoculation, Relay for Life, and any community activity that promotes health.   All activities must be approved by the Outreach officers.
